Again I find myself wishing I could give a product more than one rating because this thing makes great toast. The shade adjuster is great. I'm picky about my toast's color. I found that when I had the tray inserted as pictured, the bottom of my toast burned. No problems since I've flipped the tray over. Wonderful english muffin pizzas come out of this thing too. I'd give it 1 star for safety. Every single toaster I have ever had in my entire life has turned off immediately when the door was opened. This one does not. The heating bars inside stay red even when the door is opened. I've gotten used to hitting the "stop" button before opening the door.
